Join the team at SA Safety! To support our growth strategy, we are seeking to appoint a Training Development Manager. This new role is based at our office in Heathfield, Newton Abbot.

Based in the southwest of England, SA Safety operates across the United Kingdom delivering rescue teams, industrial support and accredited training to the high-risk utilities, industrial and manufacturing sectors. We specialise in the provision and delivery of training, rope access, standby rescue teams, rescue support teams, industrial cleaning and face fit testing.

About the role:
This is a crucial role in managing and developing our training delivery department to provide training according to customer need. As Training Development Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of SA Safety’s training services portfolio, working closely with our directors, staff, and network of associates.
You’ll ensure the delivery of a great customer experience on both existing and future contracts, and that our training team are fulfilling their roles effectively. In this role, you will be reporting to our Managing Director.
Training Development Manager responsibilities:
- Managing and developing new/existing training activities integrating with delivery
- Assessing and improving quality, standardisation, and training methods
- Contributing to the sustainability and business development of training activities to increase training opportunities to new and existing customers
- Managing our City & Guilds Confined Space and Qualsafe approved training centres
- Developing a CPD framework and delivery programme to support our network of associates. Ensure competence is maintained, technological advances in equipment and technique disseminated and the effective management of our training matrix.
Management responsibilities:
- Manage, coach, assess and develop the team members and coordinate the logistics of the department, monitoring and improving performance, productivity, and quality of work.
- Plan, communicate, manage, and measure milestones, risks, and process improvement opportunities of day-to-day operations, for the training team
- Implement the Training Delivery Strategy – addressing an effective participant learning journey, appropriate signposting and exit processes, to address participant waiting lists, training resources and actions to inform clients
- Work with the team to design and create all Training marketing activities – to disseminate appropriately branded marketing for all training activities
- Implement and conduct structured monthly Training Department Meetings
- Contribute to the management and development and delivery of programmes to meet the needs of the organisation
- Work with colleagues to identify opportunities for SA Safety to expand its business activities and assist in the development of the training programmes
- Work with colleagues to identify employment opportunities for participants.
- Review and implement the use of training tools and technology to improve delivery of training and access to training resources for our customers
- To attend joint delivery meetings and team meetings
- To manage our internal training matrix to support Continuing Professional Development of our associates and ensure that our team are certified to undertake necessary our industrial services work
Quality Assurance responsibilities:
- To create and implement a Training Department framework and standardisation process as part of ongoing quality process improvement and monitoring. To include annual observation/audit to monitor operations including documentation, feedback, delivery, and strategy across all employability programme
- Ensure maintenance of accurate records of participant data and maintain participant confidentiality.

Ideally, you will hold a teaching or training qualification or equivalent and have at least 2 years’ managerial experience in an educational or training setting. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate extensive experience in delivering and co-ordinating training and supporting and supervising trainers. You’ll be a creative thinker who is able to bring teams together and turn ideas into reality. We’re looking for someone who is self-sufficient and can operate comfortably at both a strategic and operational level. You will need to be able to communicate and present confidently, and balance and embed the social and commercial elements of our business into your work.
