About The Course
This Level 3 award is a 3-day course suitable for anyone who needs to work as a member of a rescue and recovery team in confined spaces. It includes preparing to carry out emergency activities, entering and exiting confined spaces safely, using emergency equipment, casualty recovery and handling devices in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications, rescuing and recovering casualties, following procedures, and working safely.
There is a prerequisite that students must have completed the High Risk Confined Space course (CG6160-03) before attending this training.
The aim of this unit is to reflect the national occupational standard for working as a rescue and recovery team member in confined spaces. This unit covers both water and non-water industry areas.

Course Certification
All persons who successfully complete the practical and written test will receive a City & Guilds 6160-08 Award in Working as a Member of a Rescue and Recovery Team in Confined Spaces.
The certificate is valid for three years.
