6160-05 supervising work in confined spaces 2-day course is for supervisors of confined spaces. It includes planning and allocating activities for a team, pre-entry procedures, entry into and exit from the confined space, selection of personnel, maintaining communications, and initiating and controlling emergency procedures.

There is a prerequisite of the course that a student must have a valid Medium or High-Risk City & Guilds Certificate.

The aim of this unit is to reflect the national occupational standard for supervising entry and arrangements at a confined space. This unit covers both water and non-water industry areas.

Course Certification

All persons who successfully complete the practical and written test will receive a City & Guilds 6160-05 Award in Supervising Teams Undertaking Work in Confined Spaces

 

The certificate is valid for three years.
