About The Course
Level 3 (3 hours)
FAIB Approved – certificate number 150
This course is designed for clients who already have the First Aid Certificate, but who need to refresh their skills and knowledge. This intense 3hr refresher course addresses any national changes to First Aid policy and practice.
The course structure includes practical and practice to build confidence and competence. There are question and answer sessions, and space to revise areas that candidates may be unsure of. The specification for this course was revised by the HSE in 2009.
All courses can be delivered either on-site at your premises, or at one of our specialist training centres.
Core Topics
This intense 3hr refresher course addresses any national changes to First Aid policy and practice. This course can be modified to meet the First Aid Needs Assessment within specific working environments, but will cover the following core topics:
The Unconscious Patient
Breathing Disorders
Spinal Trauma
CPR
Choking
Circulatory system/Cardiac problems
Burns, Scalds & Acid Attack
Wounds and Bleeding & Shock
Poisons
Fits
Eye Injuries
Fractures
Maintaining Records
Extremity injuries
Maintaining and Stocking First Aid Kits
Head Injuries
Course Certification
At the end of the course, there will be a formal assessment. If successful, each candidate will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
The FAIB recommends yearly refresher training.
