City & Guilds Courses
SA Safety is an accredited City & Guilds training provider based in Devon, UK, offering confined space courses applicable to all utility, industrial and manufacturing sectors, including the water industry.
If you want to book a City & Guilds course, please know that the course numbers for confined space qualifications have changed. Previous water-industry-specific qualifications have been amalgamated with other industry sectors to create universal confined space qualifications. C&G qualifications now available have also been extended to cover identified job roles.
Water industry guidance
Do you work in the water industry? The current Occasional Guidance Note on Confined Spaces from the water Industry body Water UK is the Occasional Guidance Note on the Classification & Management of Confined Space Entries, issued in 2019, with fresh guidance on safer working. The aim is continuing to improve safety standards, not only within its own industry, but in the UK as a whole.
This new guidance will help you identify confined spaces, assess risk, and go on to develop safe and suitable systems of work. However the advice is not exhaustive, and cannot predict all possible scenarios. Your organisation will still need your own specific risk assessments, so if this guidance affects you, we can help.
