Fire Team Training: Recruit

Our two-week training course for Fire Team recruits is for industrial sites that have their own First Response Emergency or Incident Response Fire Teams.

The objective of the training is to provide learners with the core skills and competence to assess, make decisions and control an industrial fire situation. Learner numbers are ideally 8-12, but please contact us to discuss your training requirements. The course ends in a final team exercise and assessment.

We will aim to undertake most of the course on-site, dependent on your facilities, so that we cause as little disruption and time away from your site as possible. However, the fire behaviour part of the programme will take place at a specialist live fire facility.

Our Fire Team Recruit training course uses a combination of practical real-life situations on the site where the team will be operating, and a comprehensive Fire Behaviour module offsite at a specialist Fire Training facility, where real fire experience will equip your fire fighters to deal with real fire situations. The course provides competence in the following areas:

fire team training
Health & Safety
Personal Protective Equipment
Safety words and signals
Hydrant and Pump theory
Ladder theory
Fire Behaviour
Breathing Apparatus
Casualty Handling
Entanglement
Internal & external fire procedures
Practical exercise

Fire Team Training: Refresher

Your Fire Team have been trained, but when was the last time these were tested in a live situation?  Have you noticed bad habits developing in the exercises you run as part of team development?

So that your Fire Team is prepared for a real fire situation, we recommend that members refresh their core skills with onsite and fire behaviour training, at least every two years, during which our experienced instructors will identify and assess any training requirements needed, and focus the course content accordingly. The duration of this course is between 2-5 days, dependent on your requirements.

As a valued customer we are also able to attend your regular Fire Team development days to advise, facilitate and assess any exercises. This will enable us to identify and discuss with you any additional training requirements you may have.
