Challenges and Strategic Responses
Unexpected findings from Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports necessitated adjustments in scheduling, additional rescue support workers, and extended shifts. SA Safety’s agile and proactive response to the changing requirements ensured that all safety measures were upheld and cost-effectiveness maintained even amidst evolving project demands.
The flexibility you gave us was outstanding. You met all of our requirements and worked with us to find the most cost-effective solutions to some of the unplanned shifts etc. This flexibility is greatly appreciated from all of the Langage team
Two working-at-height incidents that had the potential for serious consequences were identified by SA safety personnel. By proactive intervention, the team was instrumental in averting potential injuries or fatalities, underscoring the organisation’s commitment to fostering a robust safety culture.
Without the intervention and courageous conversations from your team, these incidents could have led to serious injury or even a fatality. This gives EP Langage a great indication of the safety culture within SA Safety, who are never willing to “walk on by”.
A medical emergency occurred during the outage. The Langage shift team required additional first aid support with a contractor who had felt unwell and had difficulty breathing, and the SA Safety team were tasked with responding.
The way they dealt with the first aid incident was a credit to themselves, you and your organisation. The level of first aid competence was outstanding and this has not only been recognised by EP Langage personnel, but also our contract partner as well as the Ambulance Service themselves.
Housekeeping and Safety Standards
SA Safety’s commitment to maintaining a safe working environment significantly enhanced operational efficiency. The proactive housekeeping measures by our Plant Attendants, working alongside the Langage team, were instrumental in maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment, gaining very positive feedback during safety leadership tours.
They have done a fantastic job keeping our plant clean and tidy throughout the outage. I have no doubt that without their hard work, we would have seen an increase in housekeeping issues. Instead, most of our leadership tours this year actually identified how clean, tidy and safe the plant was looking.
Holewatcher Internal Audit Competence
A very positive audit scored 100% in compliance for the competence of rescue support workers onsite. The audit’s result reflects the high standards maintained by SA Safety and their dedication to continuous improvement and excellence.
Looking Ahead
SA Safety’s dedicated industrial support services during the Langage Power Station outage exemplify our commitment to safety and operational excellence. By taking a proactive approach, remaining flexible in response to challenges, and always delivering outstanding emergency management, we maintain a safe working environment and always strive to go above and beyond for our clients.
